Beginning over 10 years ago, the project started with Vigdís capturing her sisters in their childhood home in Reykjavík, Iceland. This experience, capturing the women closest to her in their environment on grainy black and white film, inspired her to continue to take the camera with her when she visited friends, capturing and documenting their rituals in the morning, where they felt the most free, safe but also vulnerable. Photographing her friends became Vigdís’ ritual in its own right, where she has now spent the past 10 years capturing these intimate moments while enjoying the time she is able to spend with her girlfriends.
